This signal amplifier, also known as a micro-repeater, is also referred to as the platform walkie-talkie signal amplification and coverage system. As its name suggests, its core function is to amplify signals. There are many types of signal amplifiers, such as mobile phone signal amplifiers, TV signal amplifiers, radio amplifiers, etc., and all receivers include signal amplification modules. The dedicated platform walkie-talkie signal amplification and coverage system is mainly used to solve the problem of dead zones for walkie-talkie signals inside the platform.
The maximum output power shall not exceed the limits specified by the former Ministry of Information Industry's Radio Management Bureau as stated in the product manual, and shall be divided into several levels for user selection. The downlink is mainly designed for coverage, while the uplink ensures satisfactory reception by the base station. Therefore, the downlink power is generally higher than the uplink power. Gain refers to the amplification of the received signal to the rated output power. Considering the variations in signal strength at the installation location of the repeater, the gain should be adjustable. The maximum gain can be calculated based on amplifying the signal level received by the repeater to its maximum output power.

Walkie-talkies cover a wide range of devices. Here, we refer to all radio communication devices operating in the VHF (30 ~ 300 MHz) and UHF (300 ~ 3000 MHz) bands as 'radio walkie-talkies'. According to relevant national standards, their official name is 'VHF/UHF FM wireless telephones'. The low-power, compact handheld wireless telephones are commonly called 'walkie-talkies', and were once known as 'handie-talkies'. The high-power, larger devices that can be installed on vehicles, ships, or fixed locations are called 'stations', such as vehicle-mounted stations, shipborne stations, fixed stations, base stations, and relay stations.
